Important to note that Cascade Lodge is also a hotel, with Worldmark owning a few of the suites. WM units are all one-bedroom, sleeping 4. The balconies are long and narrow. Some rooms have no view and no balconies, and many have large trees by the window that shield highway traffic noise.

The nearest airport is Vancouver International (unless you own a plane, then there is a small airfield closer by. But you would have to fly into Vancouver first for custom clearance if you were flying in from across the border).



Coming across the US border by car, simply follow the #99 highway. It leads to Whistler, and is called the “sea to sky”.



Enroute during the summer, check to see if the Furry Creek Golf Course Clubhouse is open. Nice place to stop for a drink and a bite to eat.

If you like to see lots of eagles, in January and February, check out Brackendale, just past Squamish. They have an eagle count every year.

Whistler has great shopping, but for the lowly grocery purchase, it is better to stock up on groceries at Squamish, enroute. There is a large grocery store in Whistler, with some neat edibles, but you will pay more. There is a big pharmacy if you need anything. Alcohol is cheaper in the US. Canadian government controls the alcohol distribution in Canada. There is a Liquor Store outlet in Whistler. Don’t forget to try some BC wines – look for the VQA label. That means they have been approved by knowledgeable Vintners.



Cascade lodge is a nice European looking building. Easy walking distance to all the action/ambiance of Whistler Village. Lots of great restaurants close by, shops, art galleries and very easy to get to the Gondola. Entrance hall at resort has a car rental location, internet, and seating area with a fireplace. WM desk is small and on the right hand side, past the hotel reception desk. Parking is underneath building. The garbage skips are also in the car park.

The Gondola carries you to the top of Whistler Mountain, where there is a restaurant and gift shop and of course the start of the mountain ski slopes or summer biking trails. The Gondola closes down in the Fall for repairs and maintenance, so check the Whistler/Blackcomb 1-800 number at www.whistlerblackcomb.com to double check shutdown dates. This webpage will also give you details of lift pass prices, and things to do in the area. If you visit during the summer, the bear inhabitants of the area can often be seen from the gondola.

Because this is a hotel, we noticed the hallways were a bit scuffed. The Worldmark rooms at Whistler have recently been refurbished, and were looking good last time we visited.

Pool and hot-tubs were wonderful - clean, warm and relaxing. There is an exercise room also.

The unit provided great space for our needs - felt like a small apartment. Real estate in this area is very expensive, so the price for WM room is a wonderful deal. Due to a zoning by-law, there are no outdoor BBQ's allowed at this location.
